Kristie has been with the Elgin Police Department since 1998, serving as the Public Information and Community Outreach Manager since 2018. Prior to this role, she served as the department’s senior analyst where she undertook several initiatives, such as analyzing crimes and trends, writing and securing grants, including the first round of body-worn camera funding released by the Bureau of Justice Administration in 2015 and most recently funding for social worker positions through 2023.  She began the department’s social media presence in 2012, since amassing more than 81,000 Facebook followers. She also manages the department’s records, mobile, and corrections software projects and recently released a comprehensive transparency website she constructed to help her department build trust with the Elgin community. She has a Master’s of Science degree in Adult & Higher Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences. In her spare time, she enjoys refinishing antiques and spending time with her family and her dog.
